The Day The Culture Died is a critical reflection on how the 1960s radically shaped 21st century America. "February 7, 1964 was a cold and cloudy day at New York's recently renamed John F. Kennedy Airport... Pan American... Flight 101 arrived from London's Heathrow Airport at 1:20pm. On board were four young British rock stars from Liverpool..." What? American culture died you say - over 50 years ago? Surely you jest! How did this happen - by accident, natural causes, suicide, murder? Did we miss it, what were the consequences and what did the Beatles have to do with it? Between early 1964 and late 1969 most aspects of American culture experienced massive and unprecedented upheaval. Seeds planted in the fertile soil of that turmoil and tragedy continue to bear fruit today. The Day The Culture Died explores how America became what she never meant to be.

If you ask people about the existence of Christ, they usually fall into one of three camps: the faithful who sing his praises, the atheists who consider him a mythological creation, and the skeptics who fall somewhere in between.

But regardless of your personal feelings about Jesus of Nazareth, little doubt remains that he was a real person who once walked this earth. A wealth of historical accounts exist to assure us of this—with many of the most compelling coming from nonbelievers themselves.

Hostile Witnesses is an examination of the best historical evidence for Christ’s existence, particularly the evidence provided to us by the most unexpected of sources. From the pagans of ancient Rome, to Jewish and Muslim writings, these accounts create a solid fact-based history of Jesus’s life on earth…one that believers and nonbelievers will find equally compelling.

Whether you are established in your beliefs or just now embarking on a journey of faith, join author Curtis Grant Parker as he reveals the truth about the historical Jesus—and discover the opportunity to make your own decisions about his status as Lord God and Savior.

About the Author

Curtis Grant Parker was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, in 1945 and raised in suburban St. Louis, where his favorite activities included reading, playing sports, and helping raise his younger siblings. Despite growing up in a loving Christian home, Parker put his faith into a “deep freeze” and began a two-decade separation from God after earning a degree in English at the University of Missouri in St. Louis.

During this dark time in his life, he began his professional career—first working as an English teacher, then in an advertising agency, before eventually beginning his own medical marketing company.

In the late 1980s, Parker finally rediscovered his Christian faith thanks to his wife Deborah. In addition to teaching Sunday school for twenty years, he also helped form a men’s Bible study group and went on a mission to Ghana, West Africa, in 2009.

He currently lives in Wildwood, Missouri, with his wife. He is the father of three grown daughters.

By Amazon Customer This book is a must read for both seasoned Christians and those seeking meaning in this life and wondering if Jesus really existed. The author does an exemplary job of tracing the many sources of historical evidence regarding this man from Nazareth. I was astounded to discover that more evidence exists as to the life and works of Jesus than exists for most of the figures we are taught about in history classes. Not only does one come away from this book with solid historical information, but also with a compelling reason to believe that Jesus existed, did the works that have been recorded, and is, in every way, a spiritual figure that cannot be ignored. For those who are not yet believers, this book points to the hope and saving grace of Jesus which is so desperately needed right now!

Convincing and Intriguing By Gaelyn Keith Hostile Witnesses presented a slew of historical evidence for Christ’s existence and much of it was from interesting sources many might never read. From the pagans of ancient Rome to Jewish writings, these accounts create a solid fact-based history of Jesus’ life on earth. I think everyone would find this information convincing and intriguing.

By msms1987 Hostile Witnesses shows a true depth of study, and meticulous research into the apostolic church and the culture in which it was birthed. It provides a wealth of material and a fairness in approach regarding cultural resistance to the person of Jesus Christ. This is a must read for both followers of Christ and skeptics alike.

Also a brief mention of the three kings who ruled after the Restoration. There's a portrait and short write-up of each king and anyone with a reasonable grasp of French could read it. Gets you started on French history!

Line Rider is the true story of the life of Joseph Harrison Pearce (1873-1958), written by his own hand. During his lifetime, the “wild west” from the storybooks still lived and breathed in one of the last places to be modernized—Arizona. Joe, as he calls himself, took various roles throughout his adventurous life, including sheep herder, cowman, courter, tracker, line rider, and, most famously, that venerated breed of law man know as the Arizona Ranger. His story leads him to encounters with cattle rustlers, gamblers, saloons, stampedes, horse thieves, Indian trackers, outlaws, and nearly every other subject that later made its way into western legend. But this story is absolutely real, told in his own voice in vivid detail.
